NICK Marston will be a guest curator for this year's From Page to Screen film festival in Bridport.

The festival, which will run from Wednesday April 19 to Sunday April 23, will celebration new and classic adaptations.

Nick is the chairman of the theatre, film and television department at Curtis Brown, one of the oldest literary agencies in Europe. He is also chief executive of Cuba Pictures, a television and film production company.

As an agent, he has nurtured the careers of a range of playwrights and directors, including Conor McPherson, Jez Butterworth and the director John Hillcoat. He also looks after the film and TV rights for many renowned novelists, such as John le Carre, David Mitchell and Jojo Moyes.

Nick who is well-versed in the adaptation process said: "I am so excited to be curating this year's Page To Screen Festival at Bridport.

"I have admired the festival right from its initiation and am delighted to be taking part. It's a great idea for a festival and I can't think of a better location than Bridport.

"Having spent many years navigating the borders between page and screen in my work as both a literary agent and film and TV producer, I am so glad there is a festival to celebrate this particular form.

"This year I want to especially focus on the often neglected role of the screenwriter and the great part that theatre has played as an inspiration for film.

"We will be showing some terrific films, both brand new ones and others well worth another look, and will welcome some special guests.

"I am looking forward to it immensely.”

This year audiences can expect some new adaptations as well as classics including Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Lion, Beauty and the Beast here in Bridport. This year the festival will feature two preview screenings.

More announcements about the festival will be coming soon.
