DAYS OUT: Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park

ENJOY walking in all 35 acres of these formal gardens which were created by the Hanburys between 1915 and 1922 within the existing framework of an eighteenth century Capability Brown style parkland setting and the vestiges of a Victorian garden.

The gardens are Grade II listed and there is a huge variety of plants and trees to see. Don’t miss the walled garden which is a really peaceful spot.

The Animal Park was established in the early nineties - you can spend a fun filled day feeding sheep, alpacas, chickens and goats, meeting the piglets, miniature Shetland ponies, alpacas, giant rabbits and many more! There are a number of rare breeds, including Bagot Goats, Portland Sheep and Saddleback Pigs,

The park and gardens are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm and last entry is at 4.30pm. Admission is £6.50 for adults, £6 for OAPs and £4.50 for children. See kmc.ac.uk/gardens/ for more information.
