A COMIC circus is coming to a village near Weymouth.

Absurd and surreal, Anyday is circus show like no other and a day in the life like no other!

It will be in Portesham Village Hall at 7pm on Saturday April 29.

Taking its name from the daily life of a lonely character, Max, journey with him through his nomadic life, travelling from town to town on his trampoline, with only his little pet bird for company.

Follow the two friends as they shake up their normality and start an epic journey to find freedom.

Max Calaf Seve is a contemporary circus artist, specialising in trampoline acrobatics, object manipulation and physical theatre and challenging himself to obliterate the boundaries of what is possible on a trampoline.

He trained at Rigelio Rivel Circus School, La Central del Circ Barcelona, National Centre for Circus Arts in London and holds a postgrad in Physical Theatre from Royal Holloway.

Aside from being a successful performer, Max is an accomplished circus teacher and facilitator.

With breathtaking trampoline skills, hilarious clowning and moments of sadness and discovery, Anyday is set to an original score by Matt Huxley, who grew up in Bridport.

This ‘brilliant and unique’ new show explores loneliness with moments of light, shade and ultimately joy in an outstanding piece of Spanish comedy theatre for all the family.

Anyday comes to Portesham courtesy of Artsreach. Artsreach is Dorset’s touring arts organisation, giving rural communities all over the county the opportunity to see and participate in high quality arts events in their own villages.

As a charitable organisation, Artsreach aims to make ticket prices accessible to everyone and to enable this to happen, it receives regular funding from Arts Council England, Dorset County Council, North, East and West Dorset and Purbeck District Councils.

The first Artsreach programme was launched in March 1990 and featured just nine venues - 2015 saw it celebrate its 25th birthday!

Working with a large network of voluntary promoters, Artsreach delivers its programme of at least 150 performances a year to around 50 rural venues. Whilst its main aim is to deliver the arts to rural audiences, Artsreach also plays an important role in providing a source of income to the village halls in which it works, with all venues keeping a percentage of the box office and often making extra income from refreshments and raffles.
