UNDERCURRENT Sessions, which begins tonight (28), is a new series of concerts held in the enchanting Eype Church for the Arts.

Created to showcase the finest up and coming talent in folk, world, roots, alt-pop it will take you on an journey beneath the choppy waves of the mainstream into the swirling depths of the audio undercurrent.

Each session will bring the audience intricately woven soundscapes from an eclectic group of musicians, each renowned in their field, carefully curated to give you a captivating evening of melodic treasures in a beautiful rural location.

The first session will be Mesadorm - the new collaborative project lead by May Gibbs (aka Blythe Pepino – Vaults). The band constist of May Gibbs, Aaron Zahl, Daisy Palmer (Rae Morris, Goldfrapp, Lillian Boute), Jo Silverston (The Unthanks, Red Clay Halo, Frank Turner) and many more. The relationships in the project go back many years and have a Bristol centred heritage.

Support will come from Grace Gillan (Papa le Gal) and Jake Miller (Zuri Aura).

Eype Church for the Arts is the hidden gem of West Dorset, just a mile from Bridport. It's a magical space with astonishing acoustics, famously used by P J Harvey to record her album 'Let England Shake'.
