EXPLORE artworks with a view on Portland.
Artwey’s Open for Art festival will take place from May 20 to June 4 at various venues across Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester.
Venue 37 will be the Heights Hotel on Portland. Ten artists will be taking over the venue to showcase their works from 10am to 4.30pm and on Fridays until 7pm.
Podi Lawrence has been resident artist at the Heights since January 2017. She painted the mural at the entrance of the hotel along with a series of illustrations of Portland sites of interest.
She will be joined by painter Rujile Zukaite, Antje Rook who works with textiles, Caroline Slark who works in glass, together with Uschi Krueger, John Davey, Carrie Dalby, Lesley Kulig Burston, Pipa Baldwin, Ali Chisholm, Barbara McIntosh, Jane Ward and Caroline Fields.
Throughout the event there will be the opportunity to buy art and help support Portland’s Coast Watch through a silent auction.
