A SILENT-MOVIE will be coming to Beaminster festival.
The Bash Street Theatre Company will be performing at the Beaminster Festival on Sunday, July 2, at 2.30 pm. This event will be held in the gardens of Manor House.
Bash Street are a small independent theatre company from Penzance who have built their reputation on performing fast-moving, silent-comedy, street theatre shows, with live musical accompaniment.
For Beaminster Festival they're putting on a real-life silent-movie show called Cliffhanger!, a show that they are also performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
It features a live piano accompaniment and is inspired by the silent movies of Buster Keaton.
The story follows the fortunes of a love-sick café waiter as he becomes innocently embroiled in a prison escape. When the heroine is abducted by a convict, there ensues a series of hair-raising episodes as our hero strives to rescue his new-found love.
With falling buildings, dare-devil escapology, loads of laughs and, of course, a happy ending, it is one of their most successful action-packed family shows.
Tickets are available in advance from the box office.
