THE Rautio Piano Trio will perform at the next Concert in the West coffee concert in Bridport.

Audiences will be delighted to learn that the versatile violinist and concertmaster Jane Gordon will be returning to the West Country for a concert tour taking in Bridport on July 7.

For this tour Jane will be part of the dynamic Rautio Piano Trio, playing alongside fellow musicians Victoria Simonsen, cello and Jan Rautio, piano.

The trio has gained a reputation for innovative programming and captivating performances using historical instruments.

The Rautio Piano Trio has given many performances at top class venues throughout the UK, Frances, Austria, Germany and Israel, including the Wigmore Hall as part of the Young Artists Series, as well as at the South Bank and Bridgewater Hall.

They have also played live on BBC Radio 3. Their CD of Mozart Piano Trios with Resonus Classics was hailed by the Observer as ‘an impressive achievement.’

Catherine Maddocks, founder and director of Concerts in the West, is thrilled to be welcoming Jane back and said: “The award winning Rautio Piano Trio is an experienced group of young musicians who are well known for highly imaginative concerts featuring programmes of rarely performed works - not surprisingly they are greatly in demand.

“They have won many awards and have earned glowing reviews from the critics, who have described them as breathing new life and spirit into the music they play.”

Jane Gordon is a highly versatile violinist who performs extensively at major festivals and concert halls in Europe, Asia and America. Described as playing with ‘a ravishing tone and real depth of timbre’ (The Independent), Jane has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Southbank and live on BBC Radio 3.
