THERE'S a final chance to see Dorchester Drama bring Jane Austen to the county town this weekend.

The group's final performance of Austensibility will be at Kingston Maurward on Saturday.

Fittingly this past week, Tuesday July 18 2017, marked the bicentenary of Jane Austen's death.

And there is much more to the show than a dramatised reading, club member Fran Sansom says.

She said: "Feedback from the audience at last weekend's performances of Austensibility agreed that there is so much more than the name suggests, and everyone seemed to be thoroughly entertained by the combination of dramatic scenes, letters, and gossip.

"Add to the mix dance, poetry, and narration, and there was an evening to suit all tastes.

"Clever costuming by Dee Thorne, and a simple but effective set take you into a regency drawing room where you are invited to discover a Jane Austen you may never have encountered before, as well as enjoy some of your favourite snippets from her works."
