TWO enchanting Dorset events take place this weekend - from family fun on Dorset's most southern point to a celebration of rural traditions further inland, there's plenty to look forward to this weekend.

*GET into the Spirit of Portland with a host of activities on the isle beginning today and continuing until August 6.

Highlights over the weekend include a Glow Worms Walk tonight (28), the Portland Fete tomorrow on the Weston Road Playing Field tomorrow from 2pm, art in the Park at Easton Gardens from 10am to 4pm and Family Fun Kite Flying at Portland Bill from 11am to 3pm. *ONE of the county's most traditional events returns tomorrow.

The Milton Abbas Street Fair, an 18th century street fair, takes place from 11am to 5pm and will be opened by former BBC chief news correspondent Kate Adie.

The biennial fair will recreate the flavour of a country occasion using costume, rural crafts, entertainment and craft demonstrations. There will be more than 100 stalls, with food and drink venues throughout The Street and Lake Field. Admission is £6 for adults and £5 for concessions. *HEAD to Weymouth beach and watch some high quality volleyball sessions.

Beach Volleyball Classic will be held today (junior event) and tomorrow with finals taking place on Sunday. The women's final is at around 3pm on Sunday and the men's expected at about 4pm.

*PHIL Collins and Genesis fans have a top tribute performance to look forward to at Weymouth Pavilion on Sunday at 7.30pm.

And Finally...Phil Collins, whose members mainly hail from the local area, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a brand new show for 2017. Call the box office for tickets.

*THERE'S more action in the Borough Gardens in Dorchester on the weekend with the Warm Festival on Sunday.

All in aid of the Steve Charles Help a Friend Help a Friend fund, the fun starts at 1pm with live bands, stalls and other entertainment in the gardens throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

*THE Watkins and Swarbrick Band take to the stage at the Mission Hall, Sutton Poyntz on Saturday at 7.30pm.

The band are back on home territory after spending over a year travelling around Dorset's villages entertaining audiences with their acoustic music concerts.

*TRAVEL back to the golden era of music with That'll Be the Day at Weymouth Pavilion on Saturday at 7.30pm.

That'll Be the Day is an outstanding celebration for all true fans of the golden era of popular music.
