THE first of the Swanage Rep Theatre’s trio of plays will be performed next week.

Yes, Prime Minister kick-starts the season, running August 10-15, at the town’s Mowlem Theatre.

A resident company of actors, from the theatre production company Hordern Ciani, will be performing a rotation of three shows for three weeks at the Swanage venue.

The Secret Garden starts on August 17 before a six day run of The Game’s Afoot gets underway from August 24.

Hordern Ciani company co-founder and producer Katherine Mount said: “We are all very excited and ready to entertain local residents and holiday makers in the upcoming weeks here at Swanage Rep.

“The sheer variety of rep is wonderfully intense and great fun for all the family to watch, if you love to watch theatre, you can see the actors take different roles across the three shows.”

Go back to the 1980s with Yes, Prime Minister, a play from the original writers of the TV classic Yes, Minister, Sir Anthony Jay and Jonathan Lynn.

Meanhwhile, The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson-Burnett’s classic children’s tale - has been adapted for the stage by Dave Simpson.

The 1930s Sherlock Holmes inspired comedy thriller, The Game’s Afoot is a traditional ‘whodunnit’ mystery, with comedy thrown in.

It also won the Edgar 2012 Best Play Award at the Mystery Writers of American Awards.
