A MUSICAL production put together in a week comes to the stage tomorrow and Saturday.

Dorchester Youth Theatre's annual Combined Arts Week project has seen 40 young people come together during the school summer holidays to rehearse a production.

Participants started from scratch on the Monday, learning lines, songs and dance routines, while the backstage crew started working on the set design and costumes.

There were no auditions and it was a chance for young people to try out new skills, gain confidence and have fun!

As usual, the story will be far from straightforward, and this year will involve, amongst other things, a vat of pink cheese, a captured princess, some spies, and a conflict between two kingdoms.

Who are the Malvikians and the Boldivians? And will the old wise woman save the day when she reveals the plot?

To find out, come along to a performance of Cheese, Trees and Wickedness at the Thomas Hardye School Theatre in Dorchester tomorrow and Saturday and all will be revealed!

*Dorchester Youth Theatre's Cheese, Trees and Wickedness, the Thomas Hardye School, Dorchester, Friday August 25 at 7.30pm and Saturday August 26 at 11.30am.
