It may be September but that doesn’t mean that events are winding up for the season. Here’s how you could spend your weekend...

IT'S show time again this weekend with the much-anticipated Dorset County Show.

It returns this weekend with a jam-packed programme of activities, and countryside enthusiasts and families alike are set to descend on the event which takes place at Dorchester Showground.

New for 2017 is a live milking demonstration, where show-goers will get the opportunity see how the modern day dairy farmer produces milk.

This year’s Main Ring attraction will include Jonathan Marshall with a falconry display on horseback, plus a grand parade of livestock each day.

Competitive classes will take place for an array of different types of cattle, sheep, goats and pigs, as well as displays of poultry, rabbits and alpacas. Foodies can enjoy the tastes and smells in the food court and local breweries will be offering their best tipple.

Tickets are available to buy on the gate for £17, and children under 16 are able to enter the show for free with a paying adult.

The show is open from 8.30am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Visit dorsetcountyshow.co.uk for more information or call 01305 264249.
