A BLUES band will be coming to Dorset this weekend with its eclectic fusion of music.
Sam Kelly’s Station House will be playing at Evershot Village Hall on Saturday, October 7, from 8pm, playing some of their greatest hits, as well as music from their new album ‘No Barricades’.
Sam Kelly is a professional musician with more than 40 years in the business and his Station House band has been featuring on the UK music scene for many years.
The band was formed in the early nineties from the concept of an all-black blues band, mixing funk and soul with the diversity of the blues.
In its current form, the band includes Mr Kelly on the drums, Rowena Poole on vocals, Paul Johnson on vocals and keys, Richard Sadler on bass, Tony Qunta on vocals and guitar and Jerome Marcus on percussion.
Sam Kelly’s Station House is very much a groove band and is influenced by New Orleans second line, soul, jazz, calypso, reggae and British funk.
Tickets for the gig are £10 and the band's new album will be on sale on the night.
