CORNISH actor and co-founder of Kneehigh Theatre Dave Mynne is returning to Dorset this winter - with a brand new festive show.

Following on from his own take on Great Expectations, Dracula and The Odyssey, Dave's latest offering is A Christmas Carol.

The one-man show has been secured through the Dorset rural touring arts project Artsreach.

Artsreach spokesman Kerry Bartlett said: "In his inimitable style, the outstanding Dave Mynne will take you on a grim journey through the dark, dismal streets of Victorian London, where ignorance and want cower together.

"Using Dickens' original words combined with anarchic comedy - and hopefully a few laughs - celebrate the festive season with a mesmerising one-man performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’, Dickens’ timeless, transformative story."

The play is suitable for those aged eight and above.

The performance goes to Piddletrenthide Memorial Hall near Dorchester on Sunday. (Call 01300 348247 for tickets.)

It will also be at Tarrant Gunville Village Hall near on Friday (Call 01258 830361 for tickets) and Broadoak Village Hall near Bridport on Saturday. (Call 01308 424922 for tickets).
