SOUTH Yorkshire indie stars The Sherlocks will headline their first show in Bournemouth in February, two years after they last played here with The Libertines.

Since then, the band of brothers have performed to thousands at gigs and festivals across the country, toured Europe and North America and had the best-selling debut album by a band this year with their number six smash Live For The Moment.

Now front man Kiaran Crook, his brother and drummer Brandon, lead guitarist Josh Davidson and his brother and bassist Andy are looking forward to headlining at The Old Fire Station on Holdenhurst Road on Tuesday, February 6.

“We can’t wait to come back to Bournemouth” Brandon “We played three times with The Libertines in 2016 and the BIC show was definitely our favourite.”

Those arena dates have proven to be good experience for the lads as they’ve since supported Kings of Leon in Sheffield and this February will join Liam Gallagher on his European tour.

“Ten dates with Liam Gallagher is an absolute dream for us” said Brandon.

“He’s a singer whose songs have been with us all our lives and someone who we’ve always looked up to. After our set at this year’s Leeds Festival we had a beer with him, but we didn’t have a clue that we’d soon be asked to join him on tour.”

The Sherlocks’ current set list includes the ominously haunting Will You Be There? and the raw urgency of the band’s first singles Live For The Moment and Escapade. Josh and Andy’s backing harmonies are seamless on Blue and Candlelight and the honest lyrics of Turn the Clock show that, even at his young age, Kiaran could be one of the great song writers of his generation.

The band say they already have 15-20 new songs as contenders for their second album. “Kiaran is in a good place for writing at the moment so he’s making the most of it” added Brandon.
