BRIDPORT-BASED storyteller Martin Maudsley returns to the Story Café at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday, January 26 on a flying carpet of stories from North Africa and the Middle East.
Enthused by visits to Morocco and Turkey and inspired by the rich folklore of storytelling traditions of Arab and Persian culture, he weaves together a colourful tapestry of tales from 1001 Nights and beyond.
With his infectious energy and enthusiasm, Martin brings us an intoxicating evening of stories from long ago and far away. Tales that speak strongly to the here and now, infused with the playful wisdom, earthy humour and vibrant imagery of Eastern imaginations.
The storytelling begins at 7.30pm and the evening is suitable for adults and older children. Advance booking is advisable and tickets are £8 (£5 concessions) available from Bridport Arts Centre box office or from bridport-arts.com
