It tells the story of a curiously mechanical kingdom in which everything ticks but nothing laughs. It is ruled by The Queen Who Never Smiles and she is determined to control everyone and everything, even time itself.

*TV stars Cheryl Fergison and Rebecca Wheatley singer Maureen Nolan and comedian Hilary O'Neil will appear in Menopause the Musical this afternoon and this evening at Weymouth Pavilion.

This all-singing, all-dancing comedy is set in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common meet by chance and make fun of their woeful lives experiencing The Change. They soon bond as they realise that the menopause is no longer “The Silent Passage”, but an unavoidable stage in every woman’s life. The performances are at 4.30pm and 7.30pm today. *POWERFUL play We are the Lions, Mr Manager comes to Dorchester tonight and Bridport tomorrow.

This play, by Townsend Productions, is based upon the remarkable story of Jayaben Desai, the inspirational leader of the 1976-78 Grunwick Strike. She not only stood up for workers' rights and against oppression with selfless dedication, but with her steadfast resolve, she turned the dispute into a national movement for human rights and dignity inspiring future generations.

*ANYONE who loves the music of Stevie Wonder will want to get to Weymouth tomorrow (17) at 7.30pm for tribute show Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

Lejaune André, the star of The Magic of Motown will perform as Stevie Wonder and sing number ones including the Grammy award winning Signed, Sealed, Delivered as well as Superstition, Higher Ground, Master Blaster, Sir Duke, Part-Time Lover, Isn't She Lovely and the biggest international hit of all time – I Just Called To Say I Love You.
