BRING February to a close with another fantastic Speakeasy Night.
Mike Denham Speakeasy comes to Dorchester Corn Exchange on Wednesday, February 28 at 8pm.
The special guest will be Tom ‘Spats’ Langham. Tom has performed 1920s and ‘30s jazz all over the world, as a soloist and with top bands including The Pasadena Roof Orchestra and Chris Barber. He is renowned as one of the world’s finest banjo and guitar players, and his superb vocals are delivered in a style reminiscent of Bing Crosby and Al Bowlly
Tom’s trio “Hot Fingers” have toured Dorset on several occasions, playing to sell out audiences. Spats is arguably the UK’s top jazz entertainer.
Mike and Spats first performed together on a hotel cruise boat on the River Seine, and since then they’ve enjoyed many a memorable musical evening together.
Prepare to hear some mesmerising playing influenced by the likes of Ed Hall, Artie Shaw, Archie Semple, Omer Simeon and Benny Goodman.
