FOLLOWING a successful launch of visual artist, Ineke Van Der Wal’s exhibition, Quartet, at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, the artist will host a series of events including talks and guided tours that will give a deeper insight into the inspiration and techniques behind the paintings.

Ineke will host an artist talk on March 15 followed by a guided tour on March 17, where she will also be on hand to answer any questions.

Inspired by T.S Eliot’s Four Quartets, the paintings in her new exhibition evolved through a process of visual thinking. Ineke explains: “The words of T.S Eliot slowly entered my work whilst the old master looked over my shoulder. Time present met with time past.”

Alongside the exhibition Ineke launches a new publication - an introduction to her work which includes four short essays accompanying works produced throughout the years. Copies of the book are available to purchase from the Lighthouse art shop.

Originally from the Netherlands, Ineke has been living and working in England since the early 80s and her new paintings were created in her Southbourne studio.

Over the years she has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally, with works in public and private collections.

The exhibition was officially opened by renowned Dutch art collector Wouter van Deenen, and is free to view in the ground floor gallery at Lighthouse until March 31. For more details, see lighthousepoole.co.uk
