A satirical songwriter, comedian, actor and scriptwriter will make a Bridport Arts Centre audience laugh on Saturday, April 7 at 7.30pm.

Mervyn Stutter is as sharp as any and funnier than most. He has been making people laugh in comedy clubs, cabaret theatre, folk clubs, radio and TV for 40 years.

He was a founder member of the Flying Pickets and this year celebrates his 32nd year at the Edinburgh Fringe and the 27th year of his legendary Pick of the Fringe showcase -making it the longest running show in the history of the festival.

Mervyn has written weekly topical songs for BBC Radio eg three series of It’s Been A Bad Week with Punt and Dennis (Radio 2), two years on.

After Midnight (Radio 5), two years on Hayes On Sunday (Radio 2) and in 1986 he was the weekly topical songwriter for Britain’s first ever Daytime Show on BBC TV – Open Air – starring Eamonn Holmes and Pattie Coldwell.
