A Russian vocal ensemble will perform at a Piddle Valley church on Sunday (22).

Lyra – the Russian vocal ensemble of St Petersburg performs the world over and will entertain All Saints Church in Piddletrenthide on Sunday, April 22 from 7pm.

Each member of the group is a postgraduate of the famous St Petersburg Conservatoire and all perform individually as solo performers as well as with Lyra. They will present a wonderfully varied programme – ranging from classical, religious, opera and traditional Russian folk songs.

All Saints Church is in Church Lane Piddletrenthide (at the north end of the village, postcode DT2 7QY). The concert commences at 7pm. Tickets are £10 but this includes plenty of nibbles! Wine will be available to purchase.

Caroline Sharp, one of the concert's organisers, said: "We are incredibly privileged to be able to welcome performers of such a high calibre to our area. Come and appreciate Russian culture and aid better understanding between our nations."

Tickets are available from the shop at Piddletrenthide or call 01300 348851.
