Following hot on the heels of The Gruffalo’s sell-out tour and his monstrous West End success, The Gruffalo’s Child comes to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts during the Half Term holiday from May 30 to June 2.

Peter Rabbit (PG) can be seen on 26 & 29 May. Peter and his three sisters -- Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail -- enjoy spending their days in Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. When one of McGregor's relatives suddenly moves in, he's less than thrilled to discover a family of rabbits in his new home. A battle of wills soon breaks out as the new owner hatches scheme after scheme to get rid of Peter -- a resourceful rabbit who proves to be a worthy and wily opponent.

The dementia-friendly screening of Fantasia on 30 May provides a great opportunity for children to see Disney’s groundbreaking animated classic for the first time. The film’s eight animated scenes inspired by and set to celebrated pieces of classical music, are two captivating hours of movie magic. Although enhanced to suit the needs of people with dementia (with staff on hand to assist, the lights turned up a little and the sound turned down a touch) the screening is equally suitable for families with young children.

Mary and The Witch’s Flower (U) from Studio Ghibli is a gentle, beautifully animated story for all the family to enjoy. Young Mary follows a mysterious cat into the nearby forest and discovers an old broomstick and the strange Fly-by-Night flower, a rare plant that blossoms once every seven years. Together, the flower and the broomstick whisk Mary above the clouds, and far away to Endor College - a school of magic run by headmistress Madam Mumblechook and the brilliant Doctor Dee. But there are terrible things happening at the school, and when Mary tells a lie, she must risk her life to try and set things right.
