There's a considerable amount to enjoy this weekend with a packed programme of theatrical entertainment which will keep you amused whatever the weather.

*A SHOW with something for everyone continues at Weymouth Pavilion tonight, tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night.

Weymouth Operatic Society is staging Guys and Dolls, the timeless musical romantic comedy full of show stopping music.

The show is based on the works of Damon Runyon’s colourful depiction of New York’s underworld of gangsters and gamblers.

The matinee performance tomorrow is at 2.30pm and the evening performances are at 7.30pm. Call the box office for tickets.

Sunny Ormonde, who plays Lilian Bellamy in the long-running serial, will talk about her life and share some behind the scenes secrets at Dorchester Corn Exchange at 8pm.

*DON'T forget to support Spenstock in Weymouth Pavilion's Ocean Room tonight from 7.15pm.

This live music event, in memory of motor neurone disease sufferer Spencer Bates, will feature performances from The C Sharp Blues Band, Hot Bacon, Tripod, and Chloe, Tom & The Jack On the Box.

The event will raise money and awareness for motor neurone disease sufferers.

*LEARN more about Dorchester with four half hour talks taking place at the United Church Hall in Dorchester tomorrow.

The free talks, part of a Friends of the Congregational Library summer event, should interest local people as well as those from further afield with an interest in churches, local history and also Thomas Hardy.

*VOCAL ensemble Tenebrae will bring their passion and precision to the county town tomorrow at 7pm.

The group, said to be one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles, will perform a concert called Tenebrae: Spanish Glories of the 16th Century at St Mary’s Church.

*ONE of Dorset's favourite festivals returns to Weymouth harbourside this weekend.

The Wessex Folk Festival will see two free stages showcasing a range of traditional and modern folk acts. Visitors can enjoy morris dancing, food and craft stalls along the picturesque harbourside.

There will also be workshops and traditional music sessions in the local pubs.

*HEAD to Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester on Sunday to enjoy a Plein Air Painting Festival as part of Dorset Art Weeks.

Visitors to the park will be able to watch the artists paint, ask questions and buy any of the art work from the day.

The sculpture park at Pallington is open from 10am to 5pm.

*A 'SERIOUSLY' silly production of Romeo and Juliet will be performed at Maumbury Rings in Dorchester on Sunday.

*BRITAIN'S Got Talent winner and military illusionist Richard Jones will wow an audience at Weymouth Pavilion on Sunday (3) from 7.30pm.
