TALENTED young actors will put on a double bill of theatre at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester next week.

Dorchester Youth Theatre’s (DYT) Ella and The Wind in the Willows will be staged on Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15.

Ella is an enchanting short play performed by the young DYT Junior cast.

Ella isn’t interested in becoming a princess and going to the ball – the only ball she wants is one she can kick and be part of a team! Joined by a selection of colourful characters, including the Muffin Man, Little Pigs, the Tooth Fairy and Pinocchio, will Ella get to play football, and meet a prince along the way? And does ‘David Beckham’ really make an appearance......

Next up is the DYT Intermediates which takes to the stage with the adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale, The Wind in the Willows. With all the familiar characters on board, Mr Toad, Rat, Badger and Mole, and many more too, the audience will be taken on an enchanted adventure through the countryside, with some misadventures and lots of fun on the way.

DYT artistic director Jo Simons said: "I am thrilled to be working on a classic such as Wind in the Willows, it is a great play and really well complimented by the Juniors production of Ella, both groups have put so much work into the shows."
