A CELEBRATION of the best Irish and Scottish artists is coming to Weymouth in one impressive show.

Celtic Country, at Weymouth Pavilion on September 19, includes The New Seekers’ Eve Graham, and Dominic Kirwan, Ireland’s international recording star with Ireland’s newest country star, his son Barry Kirwan. From Scotland is special guest, Scotland’s international recording artist from BBC TV’s The Voice, Colin Chisholm.

Eve is the voice on Coca-Cola’s famous ‘hill top’ commercial - the most successful TV advertising campaign of all time. I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing subsequently became a worldwide number one hit and earned her group, The New Seekers, a coveted Grammy nomination.

In 1990, Eve recorded Coca-Cola’s hilltop reunion commercial as a solo artiste. Eve’s distinctive voice is easily recognisable on the original recordings of such hits as Look What They Done To My Song, Ma, Nickel Song, Beautiful People, Circles, Never Ending Song of Love, The Greatest Song I’ve Ever Heard, including the iconic American song Free to Be, You and Me and the most successful of all I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing.

Winning a talent show brought Dominic to the attention of Mick Clerkin and Ritz records when he recorded The Green Fields of Ireland as part of the prize. In January 1989 the contract was signed and after a concert tour with Philomena Begley the debut album Try A Little Kindness was released. Dominic performs a vibrant mix of classic country, a hint of rock and roll, a sprinkling of a ballad or two; a touch of a standard with just a spot of an inspirational classic. He is described as the ‘ultimate entertainer’, at ease with songs such as Like Father Like Son, Noreen Bawn, Absent Friends and Some Girls.

Barry was recently named 'Hottest Irish Country Music Act' at the Hot Country 2 awards.

In 2016 Barry released his first solo single ‘Keep It In The Middle Of The Road from his debut studio album. The song shot to No. 1 spot on the Irish iTunes Country chart and No.2 in the UK iTunes Country chart – a foretelling of the successful career this rising star will undoubtedly have in the years ahead.

Colin is well known as the lead singer of the 1970s hit recording band Bilbo Baggins, with whom he had chart success with She’s Gonna Win. In 1980 along with Brian Spence, his long time musical partner he signed a $2m record deal with CBS America.

On BBC1’s The Voice in 2013, Sir Tom Jones, in front of 8.5 million viewers, pressed his button, turned his chair around and invited Colin Chisholm on to his team.

After years in the business, national recognition of his fantastic voice was gained.

His performance of ‘I Drove All Night’, has been viewed on YouTube by more than 100,000 and is increasing weekly. Since his appearances Colin has been in the recording
