One of the top bands in Britain today is returning to the Regent Centre for its annual Last Night of the Proms concert.

Bournemouth Concert Brass will take to the Christchurch stage on Sunday, September 2 for its traditional autumn production, which brings together all the Albert Hall classics such as Jerusalem, Pomp and Circumstance No 1, Fantasia and a selection of British sea songs, including Rule Britannia and other original brass band pieces in true Sir Henry Wood style.

Formerly known as the Bournemouth Silver Band, the 27-strong group was born at the turn of the century in Boscombe and Southbourne, and is a past winner of the prestigious Milton Keynes and Reading Brass Band Festivals, as well as former West of England Champions.

The band, which has also represented the region at the National Brass Band Championships at the Albert Hall and at the English Brass Band Championships in Salford, is under the direction of resident conductor Bill Willis, who has been with Bournemouth Concert Brass since 1993 and has written many arrangements especially for them. Tickets are priced £10.50, concessions £10, from regentcentre.co.uk or 01202 499199.
