There's a lot to fit in this weekend, whether it's music, food or stalls galore at the many outdoor events in the area.

*POPULAR R&B band Dr Feelgood will play Lyme Regis tonight (3) at the Marine Theatre at 7.30pm.

The band was formed in 1971 and is known for songs such as She Does it Right, Roxette, and Milk and Alcohol, which reached the top ten.

*OPEN-AIR theatre comes to one of Dorset's most scenic coastal spots.

Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, in a new adaptation performed by Miracle Theatre, is coming to Kimmeridge Bay in Purbeck tonight (4).

The bittersweet comedy about a once-wealthy Russian family sliding into decay and lethargy will be performed in the open air at the bay, and audience members are advised to bring cushions and rugs and wear warm clothing.

*THE Dorset Food and Arts Festival will take place at Queen Mother Square, Poundbury, tomorrow (4) from 9am to 5pm.

There will be more than 50 local food and drink stalls, including the regular Poundbury Dorset Farmers’ Market stallholders, music by local singers and groups all day and demonstrations by food experts and chefs. There will be a return of the popular butchery demonstration, a meat auction by Poundbury’s own Brace of Butchers and a crab cracking demo by Sally’s Fish Camp.

*CLASSIC, contemporary and jazz music comes to the village of Plush this weekend with the Plush Festival.

A series of concerts will be held at St John's Church in Plush. Highlights include the return of Sir András Schiff, the Heath Quartet, talented young Italian pianist Filippo Gorini, the complete cycle of Beethoven’s cello sonatas and a typically vibrant roster of Plush Ensemble musicians.

*POPULAR acoustic band Watkins and Swarbrick will perform in Puddletown Village Hall on Saturday, August 4 from 8pm.

People must book their seats and can pay what they think the performance was worth at the end.

The band will be playing songs and tunes inspired by folk, country, blues and jazz standards.

*PARTY in the Park comes to Weymouth's Lodmoor Country Park on Sunday from 12pm to 7pm.

Featuring live music, displays, stalls and children's activities, the event is organised by and supports community radio station AIR 107.2, and has become the organisation's biggest fundraiser.

This year there are lots of new stalls – including food outlets –and a newly-designated family area, where all the attending charity organisations will be running activities. The full line-up on the stage consists of Bullitt, Stereoironics, The Mad Hatters, The Speedway Snails, Xander & The Keys, Permanent Vacation, Under The Carousel, Simon F, Chris Bonney, Frazer Mitchell and Sister Fitness UK.

*IT'S West Bay day on Sunday!

The action-packed day at West Bay will include live music, food and drink, stalls and entertainment. This year there will be a fireworks display for the first time. There will also be a duck race, classic cars and bikes, model aeroplane display, a model railway exhibition and pirate games. The fun starts at 12pm and continues until 11pm.

*HEAD over to Upton Country Park for the Poole Town and Country Fair on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Now in its 10th anniversary year, this popular family show has something for everyone.
