NEW features and an exciting line-up will be on the programme when a popular festival returns.

A wide range of tastes will be catered for in this year's Burton Bradstock Festival of Music and Art, which will take place from Monday, August 13 until Friday, August 17.

David Juritz, now in his 13th year as musical director, has again bought world class musicians to the village, while the art exhibition, which starts on Saturday, August 11, runs coherently.

David said: "The Burton Bradstock Festival week is always a bit of a musical rollercoaster for me, sometimes a bit hairy, but always fantastic fun.

"It's not exactly relaxing, there's way too much music to rehearse, but at the same time, it always feels like we're playing for friends, totally the best atmosphere.

"This year we've gone a bit Gallic with a celebration of two French giants, Claude Debussy and Francois Couperin.

"We're also paying tribute to a trio of larger than life musicians in a programme of cabaret and stage music featuring Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Weil and Irving Berlin.

"There's a huge variety of music on offer from Bach to Mozart and well beyond.

"My favourite jazz combo 6Pac are back and we're also welcoming back the amazing Irish folk group Ranagri."

New features this year include "Castaway with Craig Ogden", where he will talk about and play his favourite music and what it means to him.

There will also be two lunchtime concerts, with one on in the rectory gardens, followed by a light lunch.
