A unique collection of miniature fire engines and other emergency vehicles from many countries will go on display in September in Osmington near Weymouth.

Owner Jeff Little, who has built up the display over many decades, will share his passion with members of the public for the very first time, in aid of local charities.

The collection includes highly detailed replicas from around the world, from services as far apart as Belgium, the USA, Russia and Singapore. It includes the history of fire engines from the horse drawn and steam driven pumps of the late 19th century to the sophisticated machines of today required to deal with chemical spills, road accidents and a wider variety of special service calls.

Jeff Little has spent over 30 years amassing this collection which will go on public display for the very first time. Visitors will be able to see a range of organisations represented, from the RAF's mountain rescue helicopters and even the bomb disposal service of the armed services.

From Panda cars to Black Marias, from Dennis fire trucks to turntable ladders and Simon Snorkels, the full range of capabilities including command and control, decontamination and urban search and rescue will be on display.

The exhibition, at Heritage House, Osmington, will be open from Friday, September 7 from 12pm to 5 pm, Saturday September 8 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, September 9 from 11am to 4 pm. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children and proceeds will be donated to local charities.. The postcode for sat navs is DT3 6EX.
