FLORA, fauna and large floating sculptures made from scrap are going to be colonising a West Dorset eco-centre.

The Magdalen Project, an eco farm and charity-run education centre, a few miles from the Jurassic coast near Chard, is to be transformed by the Scraptors Sculpture Group into a whole new landscape.

The Scraptors work mostly with recycled materials and redundant machinery and old tools donated by Magdalen Farm will be used for some of the sculptures. Old ploughs make good teeth – forks translate as wings.

On the large ponds there will be floating giant sculptures including a ten-foot long silver bird guarding a nest with chicks.

A sample of what’s to come will be on show at the Magdalen Project’s Open Day on April 29. For information visit indiegogo.com/Scraptorzoic-Era
