Jonny Fluffypunk – stand-up poet, give-up guitarist, sustainable nihilist – is to headline the next Poetry Open Mic Night at Beach and Barnicott on April 25 at 7.30pm.
Jonny’s ‘career’ began spitting vicious political verse between bands at punk gigs.
From then on he has charmed audiences with his blend of poems, songlets, banter, off-kilter observation and autobiography.
Akin to a 17th century ranter, he is a seasoned performer at gigs, festivals, schools, DSS offices and once even from the bowels of a decommissioned Naval minesweeper.
His material is equally at home on cabaret, poetry and alternative comedy stages. Supported by WDDC’s leisure development fund, the Open Mic Night is open to poets of all ages and inclinations wishing for the unique opportunity to perform their poetry alongside established, professional poets, in the informal setting of a bar/restaurant.
Entrance is £5 for audience members with performing poets free.
A two-course Posh Nosh food and ticket deal is available from 6pm for £15.
Anyone wishing to perform on the night, should email Livtorc@yahoo.com or phone Beach and Barnicott on 01308 455688.
