THE luck of the draw is at the crux of the next comedy production by Weymouth Drama Club.

John Godber’s Lucky Sods, which opens at the Warehouse Theatre tomorrow, is about a couple – Morris and Jean – who win the National Lottery to the tune of £2million.

Completely flabbergasted, their lives are changed by their good fortune. But is it ‘good fortune’, or is there a darker side to all their unexpected wealth?

As they get used to their winnings, the cracks in their marriage start to widen, as old flames appear and things start to spiral out of control.

But despite this apparent darkness, this promises to be a cracking night’s entertainment, with plenty of laughs thrown in.

Lucky Sods is directed by Dennis Dunford and stars Dave Moore and Julie Hook as Morris and Jean and Andy Never and Julie Knight as Norman and Jean’s sister Annie.

Dennis said: “It has been good fun to do and we have really had a lot of laughs.

“The cast are brilliant and if Dave and Andy get it right on the night – which I’m sure they will – they will reduce the audience to tears.

“It is ever so funny and it still makes me laugh, even after all the rehearsals we have been through!”

Lucky Sods is at the warehouse Theatre, Hope Street, Weymouth from tomorrow until June 2.

Performances are at 7.30pm and tickets are £8 from weymouthdramaclub.co.uk or by calling 0844 8700 887.
