ONE of childhood's most popular heroines pirouettes onto the stage next month.
Angelina Ballerina is a remarkable little mouse who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina.
One day, she cannot believe her luck when Queen Seraphina requests a special mouselings' ballet at the palace. Fired up with enthusiasm and excitement, Angelina decides to stage The Sleeping Beauty, the most royal ballet of all.
Performed by English National ballet, Angelina Ballerina is a gorgeous show that will enchant children and adults alike.
So far the tour has been from London to Taipei and Manchester to Versailles, as well as at Wembley Stadium, and it has played to full houses throughout.
Angelina Ballerina was thought up by writer and illustrator Katherine Holabird and Helen Craig.
Katherine said: "Angelina is a mouseling but she feels and thinks just like a little girl. Most of Angelina's experiences come from watching my own family and other little children."
This magical introduction to ballet for children is a rare treat, to see Angelina Ballerina dance her pirouettes and grand jetés in front of a live audience.
Angelina is joined in this new ballet by her best friend Alice and Princess Valentine. Angelina's dancing teacher Miss Lilly, Sammy, William and Angelina's other friends all help out to make the performance the best ever, while Phoebe and Henry cause havoc with their mischievous antics!
So don't miss this unique opportunity to see eight dancers from the world-renowned English National Ballet performing live at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil on Saturday, May 10.
The show is at noon, 3pm and 6pm and tickets cost £17 plus concessions. Call the box office on 01935 422884 for details and bookings.
