| HOLIDAY FUN: Celebrate summer with Summerthing at Bridport Arts Centre |
THERE is a feast of sizzling summer entertainment coming up at Bridport Arts Centre.
The new brochure has just been released and tickets are now on sale for a wide range of events over the summer months.
Director Lindsay Brooks said: "We have a great summer programme ahead of us including Bristol Old Vic Theatre School's Cider With Rosie, Ballet Central returning for two nights and Miracle Theatre's outdoor show on the Millennium Green.
"We also have some exciting exhibitions with Held To Account: power politics in art and fashion and Made In Dorset, which is the first-ever countywide showcase of fabulous Dorset life. I'm particularly looking forward to Ann Jellicoe's performance, The Western Women, which tells the thrilling story of the Royalist siege of Lyme Regis in 1644."
The arts centre is also hosting a wealth of events for children and families this season.
During the May half-term, you'd be a Silly Billy to miss the show adapted from Anthony Browne's popular book, which is ideal for children between the ages of three and seven.
Then there's Sculpture On The Beach in late July, a great family day out making sculptures from pebbles and driftwood on Eype beach near Bridport. Fossil Festival supremo Marcus Dixon will be judging the entries.
During August children aged six to 12 years can join the wonderful Summerthing team as they celebrate the 15th kids arts festival, with an exciting week full of creative fun.
Bridport Arts Centre has teamed up this summer with The Bull Hotel which is sponsoring the arts centre's latest brochure.
Nikki Cooper, co-owner of The Bull Hotel said: "We're delighted to support the arts centre as it's such a key organisation in the life of Bridport.
"Our guests, especially those with children, will find plenty to enjoy in this summer's brochure, like Sculpture On The Beach, for example. We hope to see the arts centre continue to flourish."
Bridport Arts Centre's summer brochure is now available from the venue or by calling 01308 424204. Alternatively, for a full list of what's on check out the arts centre's website at bridport-arts.com
