| GREAT OUTDOORS: Miracle Theatre perform Jason on Dorset's rural Artsreach circuit up to Sunday, August 10 |
NOW the weather is finally looking like summer, it is an opportune time to indulge in some open-air theatre with the backdrop of a sunset.
Jason - telling the story of the legendary Greek hero and his quest for the Golden Fleece - is set for four more performances on Dorset's rural Artsreach circuit, including some very picturesque locations, with a finale performance at Kimmeridge Bay on Sunday, August 10.
Miracle Theatre Company is the Cornish group behind the production and after 25 years' touring in the South West it has built a reputation for entertaining, intelligent, very funny and often startlingly original theatre.
Jason looks to be an unforgettable evening for all the family as audiences are transported to the lands of Greek legend and romance to see the hero battle against the odds. It seems nothing can stop Jason and the Argonauts in their quest for the Golden Fleece: not even a dodgy oracle, a bad weather forecast, threats from dysfunctional gods or sirens with halitosis.
But when it comes to love, Jason meets his match in the sorceress Medea.
Miracle Theatre Company plunders the riches of Greek mythology.
Jason will be in Melbury Osmond Village Hall Field at 7.30pm on Thursday, August 7 (01935 83410); in Durweston Recreation Field at 7.30pm on Friday, August 8 (01258 453170); in Boveridge House, Cranborne, at 7.30pm on Saturday, August 9 (01725 517028) and Kimmeridge Bay at 7:30pm on Sunday, August 10 (01305 269512). At all venues tickets are £8, £6 (for under 18s) and £24 (for a family of four).
