| THE KING LIVES: Billy J McGregor as Elvis in The Elvis Collection |
DORSET'S legions of fans dedicated to the music of the King are in for a real treat this month when The Elvis Collection sweeps into Bournemouth.
Fronted by Billy J McGregor, who is supported by a 10-piece band under the musical direction of Alan Wearmouth, the show pays tribute to arguably one of the last century's greatest artists and performers with more than two hours of the King's best-known recordings.
More than just an ordinary tribute, the show has received standing ovations from ecstatic audiences who were up dancing in the aisles and singing on their way home.
Billy, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his musical idol, said: "Elvis's songs are performed live on stage and the show is a breathtaking roller-coaster ride of the 50s, 60s and 70s.
"Tonight's entertainment is all about the King of Rock and Roll and we love giving our audiences the chance to watch the band pay tribute to the finest entertainer that ever lived."
He added: "Be assured, there are no cod Memphis accents, no miming to backing tracks and absolutely no wigs or false stick-on sideburns."
The Elvis Collection is at the Pier Theatre, Bournemouth, on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are £15 plus concessions and group discounts. Call 01202 306126.
