Gratitude for the care received at hospital

First published in Your Letters

I am aware that many people have complaints about the NHS. However, after a short stay at Dorset County Hospital, I could not fault the way I was cared for and treated.

I was recently admitted as an emergency to DCH and spent a short time there.

The care, treatment, level of professionalism and friendliness was superb. I was cared for in the Prince of Wales ward and I wish to thank all the staff in that ward from cleaners to surgeons for their care and attention.

People who live in the catchment area of DCH should be grateful we have such a superb hospital in Dorchester.

So they did their job, do you write letters to the Echo when the Postman delivers your letters?
Why are we obsessed with praising the NHS when people do what they are paid for.
Glad you are better.

Sadly, it's the inability of the Echo to sort their website out. I have no idea why it posted 3 times.

Yes we are glad we have a service that suits some. Agree that it is there job but when your at your lowest it seems you need the hospital staff more.
BUT, when my wife and i went to the walk in centre at WEYMOUTH on August the 12 th this is what happened. We arrived booked in saw doctor got told to go downstairs for blood test. Went down waited, got called through, ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH MONEY IN THE BUDGET SO IT WOULD NOT BE DONE.
WAS TOLD IF WE HAD BEEN HERE ON HOLIDAY OR FROM AN E/U COUNTRY THEY HAVE MONEY IN THE BUDGET THEN.
The hospital phoned our Doctors to arrange a blood test first one 22nd AUGUST. Later changed to the 20th on speaking to doctors reception.
Wrote to RICHARD DRAX , got an auto reply, same day.
20TH had blood test , waited for results nothing wrong see doctor sent for x ray , phoned doctors today no results back yet could be up to 3 weeks.
Still nothing from my local M/P RICHARD DRAX.
So its not all rosey.
