OUR council is so cash-strapped, it is selling everything which is not nailed down – the Guildhall gone for good, plans to build on areas and the demolition of buildings for more lucrative parking.
Therefore, why have councils wasted £7million – yes seven million – on the roll-out of a rubbish service which does not do what the original perfectly working service did without 1,400 complaints a day?
No way will we as ratepayers save money when this service was put in the hands of a top heavy quango.
As with the so-called savings with the amalgamation of council staff in Weymouth and West Dorset, the petrol allowances alone will outstrip the savings made and who has heard of any redundancies? Not I.
False economies from the top down.
The council, it seems, is not accountable to their paymasters anymore, but just a self-serving bureaucratic white elephant which needs to have a champion in the ratepayers’ association to look where all the money is being wasted.
Less services for more money – rubbish?
