I READ in the Echo of drivers using mobile phones while driving, and I am very concerned that, in spite of this causing terrible accidents, and the families of casualties pleading for motorists and lorry drivers to stop using their mobiles behind the wheel, it still goes on.
Does nobody have any respect for the life of others?
Something that occurred to me, (although I am not sure if it is a viable option), is that manufacturers of lorries and vans could think about the possibility of building in some screening material to their cabs so that a mobile would not receive a signal and could not be used without getting out of the vehicle.
I know this will involve more cost, but if it will save the lives of people, it will be worth it.
Private cars may be a bit more difficult, but going part of the way may help. Just food for thought.
