HOWEVER anyone voted in the referendum, we should all be alarmed by the reaction of the right-wing press to this latest ruling. We were invited to condemn the ruling because a judge was ‘openly gay’ (the Telegraph), Gina Miller was ‘foreign born’ (the Mail), and of course there are many references to the ‘elite’.
These knee-jerk bigotries are increasingly replacing considered argument in our press.
