HAVING read the letter in Thursday’s letters page, I would like to echo the fact that there are far too many inconsiderate and dangerous drivers on the road.

However, other drivers could do something about it.

Quite simply, I recommend that drivers buy two ‘accident’ cameras, one for the front windscreen and another for the rear window (positioned NOT in the wiper sweep areas).

With SD cards within them (and some house two); after witnessing either an accident or dangerous and or reckless driving, (for example, seeing another driver using a mobile phone from either your front or rear window) stop somewhere safe and convenient soon afterwards and remove the SD card to download to a PC or laptop.

Download the appropriate section to a YouTube account.

Then, send the link to the local police. Follow this up to check that they have received it and will act upon it.

With Christmas fast approaching, add it to your list for family members to contribute towards good quality accident cameras.

The more drivers who do this, the better.

The chances are that reckless drivers will drive this way often and the more times they are caught on camera and / or by the police, the more likely they will receive hefty fines, points on their licence or possible disqualification from driving.

Plus, should you become involved in an accident, there will be proof as to who was to blame.

You might also get a discount on your car insurance.
