IN RESPONSE to the tirade of exaggeration regarding dogs and their mess on Weymouth Beach, once again people need to be reminded of the facts.

The extension to the dog ban for the beach was put in place even though a majority voted for it to remain as it was. Why was it right for councillors to go against the majority and waste tax payers money to change the signage then and its not right to spend it now?

Also could they not consider putting the old signs back up at little or no expense?

The periods that are being requested to be reinstated are from Good Friday to April 30 and from October 31 back to September 30.

Another fact and for all to see last year was the beach completely empty during these extended periods.

What a welcoming sight for visitors and frustration for those that walk and exercise all year round.

We are not talking about children or people playing and sitting in dogs mess/urine because simply they will not be on the beach these times of the year.
