YESTERDAY I had cause to contact West Dorset Council to request an application form.
A recorded message told me to press buttons 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 to be connected to the relevant department.
So I pressed button number one, which I hoped would connect me to somebody who would beable to take my details. But all I got was another recorded message asking me to press more buttons.
This nonsense went on for another 10 minutes. Finally I had a recorded message telling me that I should go online.
My point is that not everyone is able to get access to online facilities.
Surely WDDC along with many others of these large organisations could, instead of wasting billions of pounds on needless things such as paying management consultant to state the obvious, they could invest in having a living breathing person on the other end of the phone whom one could get through to straight away.
Or perhaps nobody wants to speak to the public, maybe the machines have already taken over.
