From time to time in the pages of the Echo we read of collisions which have occurred on local roundabouts.
I wonder how many of these accidents can be attributed to the practice of planting a mini-forest on the said roundabout, blocking the view of vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
The Stadium Roundabout at Dorchester is one of the worst.
Numerous times coming from Tesco, the A35 road clear, I have decided it is safe to go only to be confronted by a vehicle coming from A 342 Weymouth road turning right onto the A35, totally obscured by the offending greenery.
A similar situation occurred recently on the exit from Bridport.
Roundabouts should be clear and uncluttered giving unlimited vision over and in all direction.
