Aiming to keep things safe on the seafront
 |
| SAFE WITH US: Representatives from the RNLI beach control, South West Ambulance Trust and Dorset Police on Weymouth Esplanade to launch the Safety First Campagn |
A SAFETY campaign has been launched for visitors to Weymouth seafront this summer.
The Safety First Campaign combines the police, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, ambulance trust paramedics, RNLI Beach Lifeguards and the Weymouth Volunteer Canoe Lifeguards.
Representatives from all of the organisations met on Weymouth seafront to re-launch the campaign for the new season.
Council events and promotions officer Steve Davies said that safety on the seafront was successful because everybody worked together.
He said: "They work on a daily basis behind the scenes to make sure every visitor to the seafront gets an enjoyable stay."
"It's a multi-organisational effort that's not only the police and ambulance services but also volunteers and the borough council, and this campaign flags up how important safety is."
Dorset Police Inspector Pete Meteau said: "We look forward to facilitating this service."

One way of improving visitor's children's safety would be to apply a sharp pointed object to the various inflatable 'toys' that are sold and often used without a thought of the danger caused to kids when they drift out to see with them on board.

And keep the sand damp so it don't get in their eyes etc etc etc. It's this type of "Nanny"attitude stops kids adventures and takes responsibility away from lazy parents.
