Rock damages parked car
 |
| ROCKY ROAD: The damaged car in Easton Square |
A TWO-ton piece of stone has fallen off a lorry and landed on a parked vehicle on Portland, police said.
Officers were called to the incident near Park Road in Easton Square shortly after 8am today.
A Dorset Police spokesman said the rock fell off the back of the vehicle as it went around a corner.
The piece of stone fell onto a blue Mitsubishi estate, registered to a Portland man, causing lots of damage.
The spokesman said no-one was hurt and that traffic is still moving freely in the area despite the obstruction.

you've gotta feel sorry for the lorry driver. 1 gas guzzling monster less would have been a real bonus!

Lucky no one hurt...

That's a bit of a naff description of the damage isn't it? Couldn't the reporter have elaborated more?
What next, [italic]Cyclone Nargis hits Burma[/italic] (Echo reporter says) well it was pretty windy!

With 140,000 cubic metres of stone soon to be quarried from Southwell, islanders may soon need to travel by armoured car or Chieftain Tank.
Mitsubishi estates are just not up to the job !!!
