A YOUNG woman was attacked in a car park, police said.

The 17-year-old victim, from Portland, was assaulted in the car park between the Aldi and Matalan stores at the Jubilee Business Park in Jubilee Close, Weymouth.

After carrying out the assault the attacker ran off towards the train station. He was wearing a dark blue striped jumper.

PC Tracey Cambridge said: "I'm appealing for anybody who was in the Jubilee Close car park and saw this assault to contact me. It was a nice day and I'm sure the area would have been busy with shoppers at that time of the afternoon."

A 26-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested and released on bail.
