Call to back justice awards
CRIMEFIGHTERS were today urged to support the fourth annual Dorset Justice Awards.
The awards recognise the work carried out by people working and volunteering within Dorset's criminal justice system.
Categories recognise outstanding work in areas including caring for victims and witnesses, working with offenders, engaging local communities and making an outstanding contribution to a criminal justice agency.
The newly appointed chairman of the Dorset Criminal Justice Board John Wiseman said: "The awards are a great opportunity to recognise people working and volunteering within our criminal justice system.
"The winners will be staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile in ensuring efficient and effective justice is delivered in Dorset."
He added: "Everyday across Dorset our dedicated staff and volunteers are committed to delivering a service that makes a real difference to people's lives, helping to make our communities safer and protecting the public. This work deserves to be acknowledged and appreciated."
Nominations must be in by Monday July 28 and the award ceremony will take place in Dorchester in October.
