Breast practice raises awareness
 |
| Practice secretary Jackie Wyatt, GP Rod Lewis and practice manager Tracy Bowden |
A MALE doctor took another giant leap for womankind by completing his fourth charity moonwalk.
Dressed in women's underwear, Dr Rod Lewis braved the cold to help raise £1,776 for breast cancer charities at the Playtex Moonwalk.
The Dorchester GP walked 13.1 miles through the capital wearing fake breasts and a bra.
He was joined by his Queens Avenue Surgery colleagues Jackie Wyatt and Tracy Bowden. The strikingly-dressed trio were sponsored by staff members and patients from the practice.
Dr Lewis said: "We finished the walk in a little under four hours on a dry but very chilly night. Us and 15,000 other brave women and a few more rather curious-looking men.
"Our costumes became more elaborate over the weeks as training went on. But we didn't lose sight of the seriousness of the issue - to raise money towards breast cancer research.
"We would like to thank our patients, friends and colleagues for all their generous donations."
