A DROP-in session is being held for people to see plans for the £1.25 million road improvement scheme at West Bay.

West Dorset District Council is holding the session on Wednesday, October 31 from 4pm to 7pm at the Salt House at West Bay.

West Dorset District Council and county council officers will be there to explain the plans and answer questions.

The work includes changes to the roundabout at the entrance to West Bay to encourage visitor vehicles to enter the car park.

There will also be a narrowing of West Bay Road and improved pedestrian routes. Short-stay parking will still be available outside the shops West Dorset District Council spatial and community policy manager Hilary Jordan said: “We are holding this public drop-in session to give residents and businesses the chance to see and ask questions about the final plans of the road improvement works that are going to be happening.

“The idea is to have the event before work starts in early November so that residents will know what to expect. If you have any questions please come along.”

The roadworks will start on November 5 and are expected to finish at the end of February 2013.
